| This church was originally dedicated just to St Nicholas, however, since Penally was the birthplace of Saint Teilo, the dedication was changed to both at the end of the 19th century. St Teilo founded a number of monasteries and churches in Wales during the 6th century. The church has two of the most beautiful Celtic crosses in Wales. Originally in the graveyard, they have been restored and stand in St. Teilo's Chapel in the south transcept. |
