The 14th century church sits on the site of an earlier Norman one. The tower and spire were added in the 1400s. Long a chapel attached to the Bromsgrove church, St Nicolas became a full parish church in 1846. The medieval Old Grammar School, one of the oldest in the Midlands, and Saracen's Head, once a fine house and shop, received the BBC2's Restoration 2004 Series award. The school will become an eduational site once again and the house a mixed use community facility. Both belong to the parish. St Nicolas is part of the Parish of Kings Norton with Hawkesley, Immanual and Druids Heath. It is a popular venue for weddings.
