Boy Bishop of Claines

Claines Church, St John the Baptist, installs the Boy Bishop at the Sunday morning service closest to St Nicholas Day, December 6. The Boy Bishop takes part in church services and events over Christmas, visits parishioners and represents the church at school and carol services. His reign concludes on Holy Innocents Day when the Boy Bishop preaches the sermon. Claines began the tradition in 1971.

The Claines Boy Bishop led the new Bishop of Worcester-elect in procession through Worcester and back to the Cathedral for the Children's Welcome Service. Boy Bishop Louis gave the welcome and closing prayer.
