The 15th century Voronet Monastery Katholikon of Saint George is perhaps the most famous church in Romania. It is known as the "Sistine Chapel of the East" for its extensive frescoes, inside and out. Thkey are particularly known for their vivid blues and reds. Seventeen scenes from the life of Saint Nicholas are on the south facade. The church is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
