Pella’s Sinterklaas Christmas Parade begins Sinterklaas day. The parade of children dressed in Christmas character costumes goes through the town and along the Molengracht Canal to the Tulip Toren. A large wooden ship with Sinterklaas is the grand finale for the parade. After giving gift bags to the participating children at the Klokkenspel, Sinterklaas moves on to the party. The Sinterklaas Party (requiring tickets) is a breakfast at the Royal Amsterdam Hotel, followed by a Sinterklaas Party at the Opera House. Sint reads each child’s name and good deeds from is big book. Each good child, and all children are good, of course, receives a Dutch chocolate letter and coins.
