Jim Couzzourt has been portraying St. Nicholas for years. He takes a decorated bag of props: Santa doll (illustrates traditional bishop's vestments adapted to Santa), letter to Santa, lump of coal, leather pouch with coins, regular sock or stocking, large Christmas stocking (shows contrast between stocking in legend and today's giant stockings, expecting lots), Orthodox icon of St. Nicholas (used if time), candy cane (symbol for bishop), and an orange (transformed image of gold dowry gifts, given by French nuns as one of the first Nicholas gifts).

Borrowed costume: chasuble and cassock from St. George's Episcopal Church, home-made miter and crozier (not shown).
