The Parish has reinstated a Child Bishop tradition. One or more children are chosen to fulfill the role of communicating the needs and concerns of children to adults. They serve for one year, advocating for children to the adults in the community by speaking truth to power. Resulting projects include a new children’s playground, purchase of sports equipment, a streetlight at a school crossing, funds to support orphans in Chernobyl and tsunami relief. Plans are underway for tree houses and new soccer goals. The young bishops take responsibility for others and learn to articulate their desires and goals.
