Sankt Nikola an der Donau Austria
Roman Catholic
The church is on a rock along the Danube. The Romanesque church was probably built around 1141. The tower is from the 1300s. The sacristy added in the latter 1600s and the tower enlarged in the 1800s. The sacristy was expanded with an extension in 1984. Exterior restoration took place in 1959 and 1964; interior in 1954 and 1990. The former hospital, vicarage, and cemetery wall surround the church. The St. Nicholas altar piece is from around 1700. The church is a protected monument.
