Russian Orthodox
The Oxford Orthodox Parish of St Nicholas was constituted in September 2006. An earlier Oxford Russian Orthodox house chapel was dedicated to St Nicholas in 1949. The congregation purchased and extensively renovated the former Anglican St Nicholas Church, that had been a chapel of ease to St Nicholas, Marston, before being made redundant in the late 1960s. For a short time the building housed a sign-making factory, but had been empty for 30 years. The new church, fully renovated and restored, was dedicated in October 2010.
