St Nicholas, the patron saint of children and sailors, is shown as the friend of children throughout the year. The horse chestnut tree—moving from bare twigs, blossoms, full leaves to conkers—depicts changing seasons. Children love these trees and several are along the path to the church. The frontal took four years to complete.
