This commemorative medal shows St. Nicholas Church in Hamburg, Germany, before and after the 1842 fire that destroyed the city. The church was rebuilt, though all but the steeple was destroyed during World War II bombings. The coin is made from copper salvaged from the steeple destroyed in the 1842 fire.
