Twenty-fifth anniversary (1887/78-1902) of the Russian victory in the Russian-Turkish War and the opening of the monument Church of St. Nikolai in Shipka, Bulgaria. The church is part of the Shipka Monastery and is a memorial to the heroism of the 5,500 men who lost their lives in the battle at Shipka Pass. The battle was the turning point in the war.
