Cardboard, scrap picture, Venetian Dew
2 3/8 × 3 inches
Venetian Dew ornaments were made by coating cardboard with colorless gelatin to serve as adhesive for very tiny glass beads—balottini—to adhere to the cardboard. The ornaments were painted with colored lacquers to give color and shine. These vintage ornaments are rare as they are quite fragile, were only made for around ten years, and produced in small quantities.
