San Nicolas

Figure

Mexico
late 1700s
Paper mache
9 x 15 inches

An old folk santo group showing S. Nicolas with the three children coming out of the tub and, from another legend, the boy who would have had a golden cup.

The figures are from Latin America, most likely Mexico.

The paint is from several different eras and the base was probably added in the late 19th century.
