St Nicholas Hall, 1892, was named for the former St Nicholas Parish Church that was combined with St Andrews and the building demolished in 1675. The Hall functioned as a theatre through the 1960s and is home to antique shops today. It is said that the Norman font from St Nicholas was taken to St Mary's, Tonwell. When that chapel was decommissioned, the font was broken-up and the pieces buried in the churchyard of Holy Trinity, Bengeo.
