Roman Catholic faith returned to Winchcombe when the Winchcombe Mission was established in 1915. During World War I the unused Chandos grammar school (1870s) was adapted as a chapel for thirty Catholics and Belgian refugees. In 1955 a Lady Chapel, sacristy, and new presbytery were added. The church was redecorated and a new altar and lectern installed in 2015.
