The parish was established around 1190. This church building was constructed in 1701 and extended with a new choir in 1895. During World War I two bells were requisitioned, but a courageous citizen hid the other two. After the war, two new bells were donated. Electricity was installed in 1921. World War II again took all but one bell in 1943. Four new bells were added in 1976.
