The first Romanian immigrant arrived here in 1890 and there were 30 families by the next year. The church was built in 1902; it is the oldest Romanian Orthodox church and parish in North America. The building was redesigned and enlarged in 1944. To commemorate its 100th anniversary, the church received a facelift: fresh paint inside and out, a new iconostas, 25 new icons, liturgical furnishings, and carpet.
