Orthodox Church in America (Russian)
The oldest Orthodox parish in Marin County, St Nicholas, was founded in 1956. Russians displaced by the Russian Revolution fled across Siberia to Manchuria and China, then on to America. When the Golden Gate Bridge was completed in 1937, they moved across to Marin County. Now the church has those who came with the second wave of Russian immigration thourgh Western Europe and the far East, as well as folks from other Orthodox and Christian traditions along with others new to faith.
