Gates (Rochester), New York USA
Melkite Greek Catholic
The parish was named for St Nicholas in 1925 when immigrants from the Bekaa Valley in Lebanon, and Syria and Palestine desired a place to worship in their accustomed way. Parishioners helped build the church. In the mid-1980s new families from the Middle East were welcomed. In the 1980s a site was purchased in Gates and the original church in Rochester was sold in 1995. The new church was dedicated in 2000.
