St Nicholas Church

Tuxford, Nottinghamshire England UK

Church of England (Anglican)

Tuxford was nearly completely destroyed by fire in 1702 and St Nicholas Church is the only ancient building which survives (dating to the 13th & 14th centuries). The clerestory was added in 1475. The church revived the Boy Bishop tradition in 2002 and appointed the first 'girl bishop' at the patronal service in 2003.
