St Nicholas South Elmham, Suffolk England UK
[Roman Catholic/Anglican]
Following the Reformation, St Nicholas Parish was merged with All Saints. The Rector saved the stained glass, which Victorians installed a long ways away in the chancel of All Sainta, Eyke. The site is now in the garden of Moat Hll Barn and a cross marked the site in the early 20th century, now obscured by a large hedge. The adjacent Church Cottage and Church Farm still witness to the presence of the church. The Saints are a group of tiny rural villages all named for saints. Originally there were thirteen: Ss Andrew, John, Lawrence, and Margaret in Ilketshall; All Saints, Ss George, James, Margaret, Mary, Michael, Nicholas and Peter in South Elmham, and St Mary in Homersfield.
