Church of England (Anglican)
St Nicholas Chapel has always been closely connected to St Andrew's Parish in Chippenham. The medieval chapel was in bad repair in the 17th century; restoration took place in the early 19th, retaining medieval vestiges (the unusual long-waisted bell, trefoil-cusped doorway, windows, pillars, squint left of the chancel arch, and font). In the early 1900s reburbishment included a new oak reredos, pulpit, sounding board, chancel seats, stained glass window, 12 pews and book rests. Singing is accompanied by a chamber organ, installed in 1987. Before that the church had a band and then a harmonium.More photos
