New Romney, Kent England UK
Church of England (Anglican)Dedicated to St Nicholas of Myra, patron saint of sailors (and of children), it is a reminder that the town was once a flourishing port. Ships tied up alongside the churchyard until a great storm in 1287 diverted the course of the River Rother away from Romney. The height of the flood waters can still be seen from stains on the pillars inside.
