St Nicholas Church

Sutton St Nicholas, Herefordshire England UK

Church of England (Anglican)

The north wall and western end of the south wall are the oldest parts of the church—dating from the 12th century. The south transept was originally a chantry chapel dedicated to the Blessed Virgin and is still called the Lady Chapel. There were considerable additions and alterations around 1300. A spire once topped the tower, but was removed for lack of funds to repair it in the 1730s.
