Church of England (Anglican)

Jane Shore, mistress of King Edward in Shakespeare's "Richard III,' was a real historical person with connections to Hinxworth. Her parents, John and Anne Lambard, have a brass memorial in the chancel of the church, covered by a protective, removeable, piece of carpet. The brass shows the two parents with small brasses of their four sons and two daughters, including Jane, at their feet. Jane was the king's mistress until his death and then consorted with several others until her marriage to Thomas Lyneham.
