[Church of England (Anglican)]
The church in Lower Tower Street was built in 1868 and demolished in 1947; the parish joined St George. It was designed by the Birmingham partnership of Martin & Chamberlain in a simple Early English gothic style and comprised a chancel, nave, aisles, and baptistery. Following World War II the entire area of slum housing was demolished, with the church being closed and demolished as well.
