Roman CatholicThe 12th century village was moved in 1962, stone by stone, when the River Minño was diverted, flodding the plain. Numbers may still be seen on some of the church's stones. The 12th and 13th century Romanesque fortress church belonged to the Order of St. John of Jerusalem. The original dedication was to San Juan de Malta, but it is now known as the Church of Saint Nicolas. The church is on the Camino de Santiago, the ancient pilgrimage Way of St. James.
