Emporio, Santorini (Thera) Greece
Greek Orthodox
Dedicated to the goddess Basileia, this 3rd century BC structure was originally a family tomb. The small, square (4.18 x 3.59 metres) temple is made of grey marble and has been preserved intact. The roof is made of three marble slabs, supported by marble posts inside. It has been converted into a Christian church dedicated to St Nicholas, Marmarites, of the marble, as it is built of marble.
