The parish of St Nicholas of Bari was consecrated in 1884. It now has a particular devotion to the Blessed Virgin, Maria del Rosario de San Nicolas, whose shrine was consecrated in 1983, following appearances to Gladys Quiroga as she prayed the rosary.
