Venlo Netherlands
Roman Catholic
From the 1400s until World War II a Saint Nicholas church, Klaaskerk, stood in downtown Venlo. In 1948 the people of Venlo asked the bishop if a memorial chapel, dedicated to St. Nicholas, could be built on the site of their beloved church. Permission was granted, but the chapel was not built. Nor was a plaque put on the wall of the house eventually built there.
