Russian OrthodoxThe Church of St. Nicholas is part of the reknown State Tretyakov Gallery and serves as the gallery chapel. The 17th to 18th century church contains icons from the 16th to 19th centuries. The early 12th century icon, Our Lady of Vladimir was returned to the church in 2005 by the Tretyakov Gallery. It is the most beloved and revered icon in Russia and is regarded as a keeper of the state.
The Church Museum is open daily, except Mondays. The Church is a regular parish and services follow a regular schedule.
