Evangelical Lutheran Church in Germany

Church Website

The Nikolaus church, already established as a convent church in 1162, gave its name to the village. By 1184 the nuns moved to a more pleasant valley location. Relics of St. Nicholas remained in the church, making it a popular place of pilgrimage. The pilgrimages ended with the coming of the Reformation in 1542.
