Nikolaus-Kapelle

Calw Germany

Dedicated to the patron saint of bargemen, the Gothic chapel was built around 1400 on the central pillar of the oldest stone bridge over the River Nagold, the Niolausbrücke. The chapel was renewed in the 1860s and again in 1926. Calw is the birthplace of noted author Hermann Hesse, awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1946.
