Church Website

This is one of the most notable Anglo-Saxon churches in England. Much of the church is Norman with Saxon origins, particularly the tower. The wood screen in the upper level of the unusual two-story sanctuary is said to be the oldest in the country. The church dates originally from the 11th century, with additions from the 12th, 14th, 15th and 19th centuries. The two story arrangement in the chancel, shown in the interior photographs, is extremely rare. It is a Grade 1 listed building.
