Zupna crkva sv. Nikole Biskkupa

Pazin (Pisino) Croatia

Roman Catholic

The simple Romanesque parish church was built in 1266. Rebuilt in the 15th and 18th centuries, a late Gothic sanctuary with master-painted frescoes was added in 1441. The seven altars date from the 17th and 18th centuries. The original 1418 main altar was dedicated to the Mother of God and rededicated to St Nicholas in 1764 when Baroque elements were installed. It is the cathedral church for the Diocese of Porec and Pula. Pazin was known as Pisino when it was part of Italy.
