Troy, Michigan USA
Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America
Founded in 1936 in Detroit, this congregation was first known as St. Nicholas Hellenic Orthodox Church. In 1992 it moved to Troy, Michigan; this building complex was consecrated in 1996. The marble ligurgical furnishings, murals, and iconography were brought from the former church. Before the consecration, a retired Roman Catholic priest sent relics of St. Nicholas to be deposited, along with those of three other saints, in the liturgical altar.
