Veules-les-Roses, Normandie France
[Roman Catholic]
The church, built in 1095, was destroyed during the Anglo-French wars. Only the tower remained. The church was rebuilt with local sandstone in 1628. It was closed at the time of the 1789 French Revolution and later in 1821 it was nearly demolished. Some objects from the church are in Eglise St. Martin. The ruins are now a protected national heritage monument. The Veules is the shortest river in France; cress is grown at its source.
