Chapelle Saint-Nicolas—Ancien Hôtel Dieu

Compiègne, Hauts-de-France France

[Roman Catholic]

The first hospital was founded by Saint Eloi (586-659). The Saint-Nicolas Chapel was completely rebuilt and appointed by Saint Louis. The poor and sick were kept warm, given individual beds, fed and comforted. The medieval buildings have been used for hospitality and expositions since 1895.
