St. Nicholas Chapel, completed in 1427, is part of Haddon Hall, one of the best-preserved fortified manor houses of the 12th century. The chapel served as church for neighboring villages. The manor has been home to the Manners family, Dukes of Rutland, since 1567. Unoccupied from the 1700s until the 1920s, Haddon Hall has since been restored. The manor house and chapel are popular venues for film, including Pride and Prejudice (2005), Elizabeth (1999), and Jane Eyre (1996).
