Church of Scotland (Presbyterian)
A chapel dedicated to the 8th century Culdee Christian martyr, Nicholas, is said to have been in this location since the early 12th century. This monk would most likely have been named for St Nicholas of Myra. It became a parish church in 1384.
The St Nicholas Parish Church united with the Congregation of Buccleuch Street in 1980 to form the St Nicholas Buccleuch Parish Church.
