St. Nicolaus Chapel

Esslingen am Neckar Germany

[Roman Catholic]

The small St. Nicolas Chapel is on the medieval Inner Bridge in Esslingen. The bridge is over channeled small forks of the River Neckar. It was built around 1300, dedicated to the patron saint of sailors and merchants. Following the Reformation it was used by craftsmen. In the late 1800s it was repaired and used for exhibitions. The chapel is now a memorial to victims of National Socialism and World War II.
