Eglise Saint-Nicolas

Maison-Maugis, Normandie France

Roman Catholic

The ancient church became part of the Norman abbey of Saint-Evroult toward the end of the 12th century. It was enlarged during the 13th and 16th centuries. After the French Revolution it was closed, furnishings sold, and the bell and gold melted down. Reopened in 1801, it was then repaired. In 1944 bombing partly destroyed the stained glass windows, repaired in 1949.
