Romanian Orthodox

The monastery church was built at the end of 16th century. Originally the monastery was where the parliament building now stands. In 1984 the church and bell tower were transported by rail 290 meters to the present location. The rest of the monastery was demolished. Tthe church, bell tower, the interior, frescoes, and iconostasis were all fully restored when the church was reopened in 1984. At that time a beautiful wonderworking icon of Mother of God Hodighidria was found.
