Bergen Norway

[Roman Catholic]

The church, first mentioned in 1160, Built on high ground, the tower was used to watch for fires. Along with four other churches, it burned to the ground in 1198. By city law the bells were to ring when the City Council was in session and during the meeting only in case of fire. The church either declined as Norweigians moved from the area, or as a result of the Reformation and more churches being present than were needed.
