Collegiata di San Nicolò

Fabriano, Marche Italy

Roman Catholic

Founded by Benedictines in the 12-13th century, the church was destroyed in an earthquake in 1279. Built again in 1279, 1317 and 1543, all that remains is a fresco on one wall. The church was completely rebuilt in 1630 and consecrated in 1635. The reconstructed church contains very fine medieval frescoes and a noted statue of San Nicola di Bari by Maestro dei Magi di Fabriano.
