Skete of St. Nicholas

Eklutna, Alaska USA

Orthodox Church in America (Russian)

The Skete of St. Nicholas was founded May 22, 2007, with the celebration of the Translation of the Relics of St. Nicholas to Bari and the blessing of a cross. A skete is a small community of monastics, worshiping together and supporting one another, often living individually. This skete, adjacent to the St. Nicholas Church in Eklutna, is a protectorate of St. Herman Monastery on Spruce Island. Pictures are from the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy and the Blessing of a Cross to establish the skete.
