The original log church was built by Luxembourgers in 1848. A new church was constructed in 1911. In 1998, the time of its 150th Anniversary, St Nicholas merged with St Patrick, Adell; St Mary, Cascade; and St Mary, Random Lake; to form a new parish, Our Lady of the Lakes, in Random Lake. Regular masses are still held in this St Nicholas Chapel.
