Kaub Germany
Roman Catholic / Evangelical Lutheran
The church dates from the 12th century. At the time of the 1560 Reformation it was used solely for Protestant worship until Roman Catholic worship was again allowed in 1685. Both Catholics and Protestants shared the building until 1707 when the arch between the nave and choir was bricked up. Then the Catholics used the choir and chancel and the Protestants worshiped in the nave. The original choir was demolished in 1769 to be replaced with a new worship space for the Catholics. The Evangelical part of the church is known as St. Trinitatis.
