Isny im Allgäu Germany
Evangelical Lutheran
First built in 1288, the church was rebuilt after a fine in 1631. In 1529 the Protestant minority took over the city council and voted to make the town Protestant. The Nikolaikirche became Protestant. In 1803 Catholics were again allowed to move back to the city and by 1889 they were in the majority. The tower contains a library with rare books from the 1100s.
